About Me

Welcome to my blog.

I’m Arijit. I’m 31. In February 2011, I was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. Since then, I’ve undergone mutliple surgeries and months of intensive chemotherapy.

This blog is my attempt to document my treatment and give updates on life, as I figure out how to live with cancer and be a survivor.

    Hi Arijit-

My name is Tiffany Barboza. I have severe Crohn’s which has resulted in 22 surgeries, 40+ hospitalizations, innumerable procedures and transfusions, and loss of my colon, ileum, uterus and ovaries (it metastasized, which is very rare for crohn’s) since Nov 2006 alone. I’ve had it since about 2033-2004.

We can compare scars and war stories later, as you may be one of the few people on Earth who understands, but I’m contacting you for a different reason. My husband and I are launching NoSolidsDiet.com within a week or so to help people with severe, chronic, or acute IBD, IBS, Cancer, Gastroparesis, other intestinal or pancreatic issues, etc. We’d really like to ally up with you.

I’m getting my PhD in physics, so I can code like a madman, but with respect to blogging and social media I’m pretty ignorant. I don’t know what the best way to cross link our sites or help each other out is. Carlos (hubby) might. Anyway- I just wanted to extend the offer to increase traffic (thus donations) for both of us. I hope to hear from you.

    Good Luck fellow popper trooper.

    Hi Arijit,
Love the sign and the hair! Hang in there bro. I was diagnosed with Satge IV neck cancer in August 2011. But, knock on wood, cancer free right now. I’m the lucky one. Just wanted to wish you well.

    Dear Arijit,

I am very impressed with your story, your resourcefulness, and the positive outcomes you’ve obtained. Luck is following your drive to succeed which to me is a sign that the Universe is in your favor! As a holistic nutritionist with a background in energy healing I have testified the importance of diet and other alternative approaches to healing of any kind. But the colon must be one of the parts of our body that best responds to diet. I would encourage you to look for a really outstanding practitioner in your area that can guide you in find your optimized diet and supplementation to complement with your medical treatment. I can of course imagine that cutting out any junk food would be great, and adding lots of fiber would be important. But there are other considerations such as food sensitivities to things such as dairy and wheat. I praise you for your resourcefulness in managing the financial aspect of your challenge. I believe that if you apply the same diligence to boosting your chances of remission and cure naturally in addition to your medical treatments your chances of a healthy future will most likely be very high! Wishing you health and blessings,

    Sonia

My friend has stage 4 colon cancer and she’s 38. We’ve been doing online fundraisers, tshirt, and button sales but of course the sites take a percentage of the proceeds. I’m hoping to get ideas from your site. She unfortunately lost her job since she hadn’t work there long, her mom is paying for Cobra out of her own pocket, and her friends have packed up her apartment and move her things to her mom’s house since she couldn’t afford her living space anymore. Any ideas and input are very welcomed. Thank you for putting this blog out to share.

Arijit– You bring the same brilliance and sensitivity to your cause as you did to the project you helped with. I was saddened to learn about this in the newspaper, and then uplifted by all that you have done with your website. You are inspiring and awesome!
